THIS IS HUGE: A legal watchdog just filed a bar complaint against Trump’s U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro, accusing her of improperly trying to prosecute six Democratic lawmakers after they told service members they can refuse illegal orders.

The complaint was filed by the Legal Accountability Center with New York’s attorney disciplinary authorities.

It targets Pirro’s decision to direct prosecutors to seek indictments against Sens. Elissa Slotkin and Mark Kelly, along with Reps. Chris Deluzio, Maggie Goodlander, Chrissy Houlahan, and Jason Crow.

Their supposed offense?

They released a video reminding members of the military and intelligence community that their oath is to the Constitution and that they are not required to follow unlawful commands.

Trump exploded over the video.

He called the lawmakers “traitors,” demanded they be locked up, and even reposted a message saying, “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!”

Pirro’s office then pursued criminal charges.

But a grand jury refused to indict the lawmakers.

Now the Legal Accountability Center is arguing that Pirro “knew or should have known” the prosecution lacked probable cause and amounted to an effort to harass or punish Trump’s political opponents.

The group called the case “purely selective prosecution in its most obvious and improper guise.”

That is an extraordinary accusation against the top federal prosecutor in the nation’s capital.

Pirro’s spokesperson dismissed the complaint as frivolous and argued that prosecutors were simply doing their jobs.

But this is yet another serious blow to an effort that already collapsed in front of a grand jury.

Trump demanded punishment for Democratic lawmakers who publicly reminded the military not to follow illegal orders.

Pirro tried to make a criminal case out of it.

The grand jury said no.

Now her own professional conduct is under scrutiny.
