The plan was to travel from Massachusetts to California.
It lasted about two weeks.
The robot was found destroyed in Philadelphia.
Its head was missing.
Its arms had been torn off.
And the journey was over.
The creators chose not to search for the person responsible.
Instead, they focused on the thousands of people who had treated hitchBOT with kindness before that moment.
One person ended the experiment.
But countless strangers had already proved its point.
