Ingredients:
- 6–7 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp butter (for greasing the dish)
- 2 tbsp olive oil (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp paprika (optional)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional, to thicken the sauce)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
👩🍳 Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Wash and thinly slice the potatoes using a knife or mandoline.
- Season the potato slices with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- Arrange half of the potatoes evenly in the baking dish.
- In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, Parmesan cheese, and half of the cheddar cheese. Stir over medium heat until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk in the flour.
- Pour half of the cheese sauce over the potatoes.
- Add the remaining potatoes and pour the rest of the sauce on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for another 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
