A husband learning to dive at fifty six just to bring his wife home is not a movie plot  it really happened. On March 11 2011 a massive earthquake sent a wall of water crashing into Onagawa in Japan and swept away Yasuo Takamat

su's wife Yuko while she was still at work. Her last message to him simply read that she wanted to go home. Unable to accept that she was gone Yasuo trained as a scuba diver at an age when most people are slowing down and began searching the freezing Pacific himself.

Reports from the BBC CBS News and a 2023 documentary called The Diver confirm he has now dived more than six hundred times and J

apanese officials say over two thousand people from that disaster were never found. Grief usually fades 

quietly but love like this keeps showing up every single morning with a tank on its back  Some people never stop looking for home.
