An American woman living in India has gone viral after revealing the huge difference in medicine prices between the United States and India.

 

her video, she said Americans are paying far too much for life-saving medicines, while many of the same treatments are available in India at a fraction of the cost. 

Liz shared that her aunt takes Revlimid, a medicine used to treat blood cancer. According to her, one branded pill costs around $900 in the US, while generic versions in India can cost as little as $0.30 to $3 per pill, depending on the dosage and manufacturer. 

She praised India's affordable generic medicines and said they make essential healthcare accessible to millions. In contrast, she described the American healthcare system as one where patients are often "being robbed" by extremely high medicine prices. 

Her video quickly went viral, earning hundreds of thousands of views and sparking widespread debate. Many people agreed with her, applauding India's low-cost generic medicines and calling for lower drug prices in the US.  Some even suggested that traveling to India for treatment could still cost less than buying the same medicines in America. 

Liz isn't alone. Another American, Victoria, previously shared a similar experience after buying a medicine in India for just $25 that reportedly cost nearly $1,000 in the US. She criticized the American healthcare system and questioned why essential medicines are so expensive.
