baked spaghetti

 


This is one of my all-time favorites. It is fantastic to take to potlucks or to a friend who is under the weather. I like eating it the next day as a cold pasta dish. Can't go wrong with this one!





Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cooked spaghetti noodles
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup green peppers
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 clove garlic (or 1/2 teaspoon garlic seasoning)
  • 1 pound cooked ground beef (can substitute chicken or Italian sausage)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (use cream of chicken if you use chopped chicken, 10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

How To Make baked spaghetti

  • Onions and green peppers sauteeing in margarine.
    Step 1
    Saute onion and green pepper in margarine.
  • Tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and beef added to skillet.
    Step 2
    Add tomatoes, oregano, garlic, and beef. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.
  • Half the spaghetti added to the baking dish.
    Step 3
    Place 1/2 of the cooked spaghetti in the bottom of a 9 X 13 inch greased pan.
  • Half the meat mixture and mozzarella cheese added to baking dish.
    Step 4
    Top with 1/2 of veg/meat mixture. Next top with 1 cup mozzarella cheese.
  • The remaining spaghetti added to the baking dish.
    Step 5
    Add the rest of the pasta.
  • Layers repeated in the baking dish.
    Step 6
    Repeat layers.
  • Water and creamed soup mixture poured into casserole dish.
    Step 7
    Mix soup and water together and spread over casserole.
  • Sprinkling Parmesan cheese over the casserole.
    Step 8
    Top with Parmesan cheese.
  • Baking the Baked Spaghetti.
    Step 9
    Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Easy to make ahead and freeze for busy days!
