Five Things I Wish I Had Known at 50 (Now That I'm 70)

1. Your Health Is Your Real Wealth
I wish I’d realized how much every choice—what I ate, how much I moved, how I handled stress—would shape the way I feel now. Invest in your health like it’s your most prized asset, because it truly is.

2. Time Speeds Up—Savor It
At 50, life still felt expansive. Now, I see how quickly the years fly. Don’t rush through your days. Be present for the moments that matter and let go of the ones that don’t.

3. Let Go Sooner
Resentments, regrets, grudges—they don’t carry meaning into the later chapters of life. I wish I had forgiven faster, released things more easily, and spent less time rehashing the past.

4. Keep Learning, Keep Dreaming
I thought dreams had an expiration date. They don’t. Whether it’s picking up a new language, learning to paint, or taking that road trip, participate in a 5K—you’re never too old or too late to start something new.

5. People Matter More Than Stuff
I spent too many years chasing success, possessions, and status. What truly endures are relationships—the family gatherings, laughter with friends, the shared stories. Nurture those connections.
