Judge says Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS was an attempt to use the courts to give himself immunity and billions in taxpayer-funded benefits.

A federal judge has delivered one of the harshest judicial rebukes of Donald Trump’s second presidency.

U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams ruled that Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS over the leak of his tax returns was filed for an “improper purpose” and described it as an effort to use the courts to legitimize a deal benefiting Trump, his family, and his allies.

The lawsuit claimed the IRS failed to prevent the disclosure of Trump’s tax returns. But after Trump returned to office, his administration negotiated a settlement with itself. The agreement would have protected Trump and members of his family from future tax audits while also creating a $1.776 billion “Anti-Weaponization Fund” to compensate people claiming they had been unfairly targeted by the government.

Judge Williams rejected the entire premise.

She wrote: “The question is whether the Parties could do so by claiming to be adverse and engaging the legitimacy of a court proceeding. The answer is a resounding ‘no.’”

She added that the case was “an attempt to use the Court to provide some legitimacy to an agreement to confer immunity to people and entities affiliated with the President and to earmark billions of dollars from American taxpayers to redress grievances not defined in the law.”

Trump has repeatedly described the investigations into him as political persecution, calling them “witch hunts” and “weaponization.” Prosecutors and courts, meanwhile, have obtained criminal convictions against him, civil fraud judgments, and a civil finding that he sexually abused E. Jean Carroll.

Williams also referred Trump attorney Alejandro Brito to the Florida Bar for possible discipline. She barred attorney Daniel Epstein from practicing before the Southern District of Florida for up to one year.

The ruling was also sent to disciplinary authorities in New York and Washington, D.C., where ethics complaints involving Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche and Associate Attorney General Stanley Woodward are already pending.

Williams was especially critical of Blanche, writing that his ability to negotiate, modify, and partially abandon the settlement on behalf of both sides showed “there was only one party whose interests were being represented throughout this case.”

The administration has already abandoned the proposed $1.776 billion fund after bipartisan criticism, and another judge had blocked it.

Trump, however, has continued pursuing the portion of the agreement that would shield him and family members from IRS audits.

And this judge just said HELL NO.
