Ingredients (Makes 10–12 Bars)
For the Wafer Layers:
- 20 vanilla wafer sheets
- 1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (or chocolate cream)
For the Chocolate Coating:
- 500g milk chocolate, chopped
- 2 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (for a smooth coating)
Optional:
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Crushed hazelnuts or crispy rice for extra crunch
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the Wafer Layers
- Spread a thin layer of chocolate hazelnut spread over one wafer sheet.
- Stack another wafer on top and repeat until you have 4–5 layers.
- Press gently and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes to firm up.
2. Cut into Bars
- Remove the layered wafers from the refrigerator.
- Using a sharp knife, cut them into equal-sized bars.
3. Melt the Chocolate
- Melt the milk chocolate with the coconut oil using a double boiler or microwave.
- Stir until smooth and glossy.
4. Coat the Bars
- Dip each wafer bar completely into the melted chocolate.
- Lift with a fork, allowing the excess chocolate to drip off.
- Place the coated bars on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
5. Chill
- Refrigerate the bars for 20–30 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely set.
- Once firm, they're ready to enjoy!
