If you suffer from leg, knee or hip pain, try these six exercises to relieve the pain…….See more

Who hasn’t experienced those little aches and pains in their knees, calves, or hips after a long day? We tell ourselves it will go away… until the discomfort becomes too frequent. What if the solution were much simpler than we think? A few targeted movements, practiced regularly, can improve the comfort and flexibility of walking. But which ones should you choose to really feel the difference?

Because moving is so enjoyable

When joints stiffen, it’s often because they need gentleness, not excessive strain. Simple exercises can activate deep muscles, improve stability, and relax key areas of the lower body. The goal isn’t to achieve a specific result, but to reconnect with your sensations, to release tension, much like kneading dough until it’s smooth and elastic. This delicate joint mobility then becomes a true ally in everyday life.

Exercise 1: Leg raises for light strengthening

Standing with your hands on a chair or counter, lift one leg and hold it still. Then, slowly raise it onto your toes and gently lower it back down. Repeat this exercise 8 to 15 times, depending on your fitness level. It strengthens the lower leg muscles and significantly improves balance, which is ideal for going up and down stairs or walking with greater confidence.

Exercise 2: Walking on tiptoe

This exercise is perfect for busy people: simply walk on your tiptoes while going about your daily activities. This active walking strengthens foot muscles and improves overall stability. Continue until you feel comfortable, like a prima ballerina… but without the physical exertion of the Paris Opera!

Exercise 3: Ankle rotations for improved mobility

Sit down, lift one leg, and rotate your ankle ten times in one direction, then ten times in the other. Repeat with the other leg. This simple movement loosens the ankle joints and prepares the body for a smoother gait. Do it during a coffee break or a video call: no one will notice. Exercise 4: Elastic Stretch for a Stronger Foot

Take a resistance band and wrap it around the sole of your foot. Lift your leg and bend it slightly, then gently pull the band towards you to activate your arch. Repeat this exercise 10 to 15 times on each foot. It improves mobility and provides a pleasant stretching sensation, as if your feet are going into “vacation” mode.

Exercise 5: Grab your toes to activate the arch of your foot

Place a towel or small object on the floor and try to pick it up with your toes. This fun game stimulates the often-neglected muscles of the foot. The result: a more dynamic arch and improved stability while walking
