President Donald Trump said Lindsey Graham called him last evening to talk about the Save America Act. According to Trump, Graham was determined to see the legislation move forward despite feeling tired after returning from Ukraine.

Trump recalled, "He sounded a little tired, but he also sounded good. He told me he really wanted to get the Save America Act passed."

Trump responded, "We're going to get it done, Lindsey. We're going to get it done. I'll see you soon."

He also said they had even discussed the possibility of meeting the following day.

Trump explained that the call ended shortly afterward, and later that night, around 1 a.m., he received a message from someone in Graham's office informing him that the senator had passed away.

Reflecting on the moment, Trump said he was stunned by the news and described Lindsey Graham as "like a member of the family." He added that it was an incredibly difficult loss and something he still finds hard to believe.

The conversation, Trump said, may have been one of the last they ever shared, making the memory even more meaningful.
