Apple Fries

Ingredients
– 4 large tart/crisp  apples (Granny Smith, Pink Lady, or Honeycrisp)
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 cup all‑purpose flour
– 4 tbsp granulated  sugar (1 tbsp + 3 tbsp)
– 1 tbsp cornstarch
– 1½ tsp cinnamon (1 tsp + ½ tsp)
– ¼ cup vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions
1. Slice apples into ¼‑inch thick sticks.
2. In a shallow dish, whisk milk, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp cinnamon until  sugars dissolve.
3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, remaining 3 tbsp sugar, cornstarch, and ½ tsp cinnamon.
4. Dip each apple stick first into the milk mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture; shake off excess.
5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry apple sticks in batches, turning until each side is golden and crunch is achieved, about 2–3 minutes per batch.
6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
