Turtle Caramel Cake

My favorite cake is Chocolate, I love caramel and absolutely love pecans. When I decided to blend all of these favorites together in a cake, I did have to make a few attempts. I had to figure out how to combine all these favorites into a cake form of a ‘Turtle’ candy.

It took a few tries to get it just right, and normally I would complain, however, I did get to enjoy chocolate cake more often.

There are many recipes out there for a Turtle Cake, but none that made me as happy as this one does. The others involved spreading the caramel over the cake. That is difficult to do. With this Caramel Turtle Cake, there is no difficulty, which makes this so much easier.

This cake is sure to delight and please the masses. It is perfect for any celebration, party or get together. It is also perfect to keep for yourself.

What makes this recipe so special?

This cake is easy to make, the flavors combine perfectly and the cake is super moist.

What if we do not like Caramel?

You could use butterscotch, white chocolate or even toffee. You can use different chips on the top also. You could make a peanut butter sauce that you use in place of the caramel. Then use peanut butter chips. However, that would not be a Turtle cake.

Should I use a German Chocolate cake or regular Chocolate?

German Chocolate cake will give this a great taste. It adds to the decadent flavor of the entire dessert put together. This is a rich cake, and it is extreme in chocolate flavor, but not too sweet. Be ready with a glass of milk to enjoy along with  this cake.
