Root Beer  Baked Beans 🍺

Ingredients:
– 3 bacon slices
– 1 small onion, diced
– 2 cans (15 oz each) baked beans (such as pork and beans or Boston baked beans)
– 1 cup root beer
– ½ cup barbecue sauce
– ¼ cup brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons molasses
– 1 teaspoon dry mustard
– ½ teaspoon garlic powder
– ¼ teaspoon black pepper
– Optional: 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove bacon and chop into small pieces, reserving 2 tablespoons of bacon grease.
3. Add diced onion to the same skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
4. In a large baking dish, combine the baked beans,  cooked bacon, sautéed onion, root beer, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, molasses, dry mustard, garlic powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce (if using).
5. Stir until well combined.
6. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until sauce has thickened slightly.
8. Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
