On May 2, she boarded the RMS Transylvania from Glasgow and traveled across the Atlantic Ocean. After several days at sea, she arrived in New York City on May 11, just one day after her 18th birthday.

When she arrived, Mary Anne had only $50 in her pocket. Like many immigrants, she worked hard to build a better future and found work as a domestic worker. She slowly adapted to her new life in America and created a path for herself.

Later, she met Fred Trump, a New York businessman. The two fell in love and married on January 11, 1936. Together, they built a family and had five children: Maryanne, Fred Jr., Elizabeth, Donald, and Robert.

Years later, her son Donald Trump became a famous businessman and political figure, eventually serving as the 45th and 47th President of the United States.
